The Day The Crayons Quit (Picture Book) by Drew Daywalt and Illustration by Oliver Jeffers
This is a picture book initially published in 2013, but still going strong. It’s an imaginative use of crayons and how they feel about their usage. One day, they quit, leaving letters for Duncan. It is literally a revolt. One color would complain about being made to work harder, while other would be sad with its nomenclature in daily usage, and so on. And what more? All of them have valid reasons for taking the extreme step!
An interesting thing of illustration in this book is that the text is written the way a new learner will write the words and sentences with crayons.
A very good book for kids that is hilarious and entertaining. It is also informative, in the sense it informs kids as to which color is to be used for coloring what object.
