sir, also tell me about that what’s the appropriate time to apply in these big companies after getting the pos. results of my ipcc examinations.
I would say, you should start searching prior to declaration of result. Much have been written regarding guidelines on how to search for articleship in the article and previous comments.

I have completed C.S. in dec09 and am going to give CA Final in Nov10. Can you please refer any reference books for the current subjects in the course that would help me in my ensuing exams.
The first preference is ICAI study material. And in addition you can pick up one book (wherever required) from any of the publications viz. Taxmann / Bharat / Aadhya / Paduka / Snowwhite / Bestword. This choice would basically depend on what kind of author or writing style you find comfortable.

I want the best exposure, to get best exposures which firm should i choose the big 4 firms or a middle firm?
Reply by Anup: Read the article above. As a thumb rule, if you want to go for employment, Big 4 is preferred, else middle firm.
sir yet i don’t know whether i will go for employment or practice it will depend on the opprtunities that i will get later, so sir right now i am just concerned about the exposures just tell me that where i will get d best exposures…. in big or middle?

hi sir, i have given my IPCC MAY 10 group I attempt and the results are supposed to be declared in july. Meanwhile i am preparing for the IInd group.
Plz tell me the procedure for applying for articleship training in any firm, and whether i should apply for it right now or wait till the declaration of results??
Please read the article above. The article is about my experience of searching and finding firm for articleship. There is no ‘official procedure’.
I would advise that you start searching for articleship in right earnest. Infact, you can even request the CA to keep you as trainee for a month. Many CAs (not Big 4) would be willing to take you as trainee prior to articleship. That would help you to acclimatise, as well as check the CA your suitability to the firm.
And anyway, you would understand what goes on in a CA firm. It would also help you to check whether you are suited to work in that firm for three years as article trainee. So if you think that it would be preferable to join another firm for articleship, you can do it without regretting later.
Articleship you can do only after declaration of IPCC (ie. Gr.1) results.

If an article has not completed his whole tenure of 3.5 yrs (say worked for 2yrs in aggregate) and his CA had allowed him such unofficial leave , but paid the article only the stipend for the period worked for. Then after passing CA final would ICAI check for the stipend paid as a proof for period worked. For best interest is it adviceable to go for a Cash & Bank Transaction with the CA(principle) for the balance period(i.e. 1.5 yrs). Please advice.
Your question relates to Dummy training.
Dummy articleship training is illegal and morally wrong. The CA who has allowed such dummy – for whatever reasons – is morally corrupt, and the student who has been allowed such dummy is equally at fault and has been initiated into a corrupt practice early in life, which is reprehensible.

As per rules of ICAI, such student should undergo training for excess leave taken. In a 3.5 years training, the leave permissible is 180 days (six months). So, if the article has been allowed leave of 18 months, then such article has taken excess leave of 18 months less 6 months = 12 months. Therefore such student should undergo the balance period of one year of training and properly complete articleship.

sir i just read it in the newspaper that articleship can only be done after completing IPCC(group 1 and 2) is it true…..and sir can graduation be done from a regular college alongwith articleship?
For being eligible to do articleship under the current scheme as on date,
1) Clear IPCC Gr 1 (ie. 4 papers)
2) Complete the Computer Course
3) Complete the Orientation Program (35 Hours)
As for doing graduation, one cannot attend any class during prescribed hours – its something like 10 AM to 6 PM (plz check the exact timing with the Institute circular / Prospectus).
The point is – regular college can also be a morning college or an evening college – but it cannot be college during normal working hours of the office.
Also, alongwith articleship, you can do only ONE additional course – and for that ‘permission’ has to be taken in prescribed form 112.
The problem with all such arrangement that has been made by ICAI is, that when you clear your CA Finals, and apply for membership – you will have to submit all details of your qualification – and that time all the scrutiny will be done. So, if they find that you have done degree from a college with regular hours, and misdeclared in permission form 112 – the institute will not give you the CA degree. (without graduation degree, they will anyway not give the CA charter)
There are many variations to such breaches – like students doing courses not prescribed, or doing courses without taking permission. Previously, such breaches were condoned, however, ICAI has become more strict in this matter.

i gave my ipcc in may 10. i would probably prefer employment after becoming CA – so is it necessary to go for big 4 or other big firms or medium firm will be ok
You should have good command over the subject, good marks, and good in communication. If you have these, then it does not matter from where you do your articleship. However Big 4 adds brand value to your CV. Its like you going to meet someone in a BMW or a Maruti 800 – just think the impression / impact on the person in each case! As such, since these Big 4 do the audit of listed companies, and most of the ‘brand’ companies are listed, they prefere hiring from those who have articleship experience in these Big 4, as integration with work culture is easier.

sir but if i do graduation from correspondence then also do i have to fill the prescribed form 112? Also sir in the link you posted it states that the last date of filling the form 112 is 31st march 2010. So, what should i do now as the date has passed away?
Form 112, is for taking additional course. Since BCom is an additional course – even if it by correspondence, you will have to fill it. The form is to be filled at the time of joining articleship.
Edit: “The form is to be filled at the time of joining articleship.” should be read as –
“The form 112 is to be filled when the student joins the course while in Articleship, or else, if s/he has already enrolled prior to joining articleship, even in such case, the form is to be filled at the commencement of articleship”
Sir I have given IPCC may 10 and CS foundation june 10 and have also completed bcom 1st year. Now my articleship will start in august 2010. So can I pursue both b.com. & CS along with my articleship? Our college timings do not clash with office working hours.What should I do?
