Today, ICAI has launched a seemingly good initiative of Grievance Resolution Management System.
This can be accessed from: http://www.icai.org/help/
One would have to see how long it lasts and whether it is able to deliver results.
(I remember in the past, ICAI had launched with much fanfare toll-free number for students – which after some time was not functioning).
Hi,
Im staying in Bangalore and I have written the IPCC exam last Nov 2009 and awaiting results. Im quite interested in getting into EnY but not sure how. I assume I can start my artilceship only once i pass group 1. However, due to financial problems, I would like to get into a job that would give me the same exposure as an article student, preferably in the Big4. Im not sure how to go about this. Im would be grateful to have your advice on how to proceed. Thank you.
E&Y and other Big4 are basically consultancy companies. They recruit at various levels according to their requirements – including their own BPO divisions that may be doing outsourced work from different parts of the globe. They also provide internship opportunities. The best way to contact them is go to their office and talk to their HR Manager. Bangalore has E&Y office. Go and talk to people there:

Good Luck
sir,
first of all i want to thank you for the rare kind of information to a chartered accountant student availed by you.
i am a CA final student, i want to get an advice for industrial training, how & where?
The issue of Industrial Training has been raised quite often. Usually it is desirable to go for industrial training to particular industry / sector in which one wishes to take employment after qualifying CA. Employers would prefer someone who has familiarity with the working of the particular industry. Its quite obvious that a person who has done industrial Training with some Telecom Company (say Reliance Telecom) stands a better chance of being selected by Companies in such sector (Airtel / Reliance / etc). Also, even in industrial training, there can be different aspects like accounting / audit / tax work. Be sure for what kind of work you would like to do industrial training, as that would affect your job prospects later on.
Plz go through the previous comments / replies – most probably your queries should get resolved.
1) So you want to do Articleship
2) Articleship: Certain Rules

Keep a watch on the notice board of EIRC. Usually adverts for articleship are given by Big4 there. You can also directly contact their offices – like in Camac Street / Salt Lake / etc. Try to consult office bearers of EIRC or even the CA student association.
sir,i have just now passed ipcc grp1 and i am looking for medium sized ca firms in mumbai in western line. please mail me the details on deven5306@gmail.com
Reply by Anup: For list of firms, contact your local ICAI branch
i am interested to work in some audit or Ca firm to gain finance knowledge.
That’s good – keep up your spirit ! CA Firms would be happy to engage you.
Sir, actually i am currently working as an articled clerk in a ca firm on SECONDMENT basis.I wanted to know the procedure of cancellation my secondment.
Regards,
Nipun Chopra.
There is no procedure as such. Just collect your attendance certificate – preferably in Form 109 format, signed by the CA under whom you are doing secondment – and report back to your Principal.
If you are maintaining any Diary relating to daily works, then get that signed also.
Sir,do I need to inform the institute (ICAI) also?
Actually the contract of secondment was for 1 year, but due to unavoidable circumstances,I abled to complete just 6.5 months. So is there any formality regarding intimation to the institute?
Earlier, for the purpose of secondment (commencement) – there was no requirement of intimation to ICAI. However sometimes back – they had come out with a form for secondment – that had to be submitted to ICAI within 30 days of commencement of secondment by the student.
http://icai.org/resource_file/7526form_secondment_articles.pdf
(However there is no form – to my knowledge – for intimation of completion of secondment.)
The point is – did you underwent secondment – as in the older times – when it was just the understanding between the two CAs’ ? or you sent this form to ICAI?
If it was just as in the ‘older’ times – you need not intimate anything to the institute. But you have to keep the training records.
But if you have sent the above mentioned form, then I would say that:
since you have completed more than 4 months of secondment:
1) Take a “secondment completion certificate” regarding end of secondment from the current CA under whom you are doing secondment – with complete training records (109 format) and also the fact that you have been paid stipend during the secondment period in compliance of ICAI rules.
2) Thereafter, send a letter of intimation to ICAI regarding the completion of secondment duly forwarded by your Principal (for ref: you can attach copy of form sent to ICAI and also the “secondment completion certificate” for reference).
Hi,
I am going to appear in Ipcc 1 group-may 2010. I need some information regarding articleship which i can do in pune with some big firm. I have done MBA- Finance from pune university, will this help me to get selected for articleship under a big firm. I need guidance to approach some big firms in Pune.
Unless you get good marks in your CA exams, your MBA is not of much use in this line (except for in soft skills in actual practical field). Infact, the very fact that you are joining this line of CA after MBA means that the particular qualification was not of much use to you – unless you can justify the transition.
As for your other query regarding guidance, please go through the previous comments – much has been written in the previous comments.
hi sir, i have cleared my cpt exam dec attempt , i want to do articleship in mumbai , plz suggest me best CA auditing firms in mumbai…..and their procedure..thank you
‘Best’ is matter of perception. Usual procedure is a formal interview – it may be a few questions or a detailed one.
Sir I want to get into Big4 for articleship. Please tell me what are the requirements & procedure. And what are the stipend there?
All that is written in the article – plz read it first !
