Google Analytics: Bounce Rate

Bounce Rate in website metrics is usually understood as a quantitative measure of relevance of the website to the site visitor. Websites with lower bounce rate is considered to be good.

Though I have put Google analytics for the site, I rarely visit the analytics, as I consider that this website indiapoint.net is more a personal labour of love and hobby.

I find all the options of google analytics too technical. In the analytics page there are so many options that I dont understand – and anyway, I have not made effort to understand that. After all, this website is not a commercial website.

But recently when I logged into the analytics after a long time, I find the following relating to the bounce rate for indiapoint.net

Bounce-Rate.jpg
The graph shows that the bounce rate for the preceding month is 18.13%, and the bounce rate has fluctuated between less than 15 to less than 30 on different days of the preceding 30 days.

So, it seems that the website is ‘relevant’ to the site visitors !
